Criteria and Procedure for UPINHF Annual Awards

The University of the Philippines International Nursing and Health Care Forum
(UPINHF INC) desires to exemplify the UP Alumni and celebrate their achievement by acknowledging s
pecific breakthroughs with two citations called “ The International Health Professional Award of Excellence “ ( Orbis Honoris literally means worldwide honor or global citation).

A. Criteria:

1. The work or project being recognized is authored, co- authored, collaborated with, or in cooperation with the nominee. [20%] 2. The work or project advances the health care profession, deemed to be beneficial to individual patients, and potentially would be helpful to mankind. [30%]

3. The work or project is a new idea, improvement of existing skill or technology, or an emerging concept that has no like precedent to be considered a breakthrough and has global implication and application.[50%]

B. Requirements:

1. Must be a UP alumna/alumnus.

2. The recipient must be able to accept the award in person during the UPINHF’s annual forum (waived during the pandemic) and must be prepared to give a briefing about the work and /or projects that were considered for the award by the awards and Citations Committee.

3. The awardees will be a speaker at the UPNIHF annual educational forum and will publish their presentations at (IFNAH) the International Nursing and Health Care Forum, the official journal publication of UPINHF.

C. The deadline for the submission of the requirements is May 15, of each year. The deadline may be extended with the approval of the the Board of Directors.

D. The Nomination Process:

1. The Nominator must be a member of UPINHF Inc.

2. A letter of nomination must be addressed to the Chairman, committee on Awards, Citations, and Scholarships submitted via e mail to:

3. The nomination letter must include a brief introduction about the nominee and why the nominee should be considered for either the International Nurse Award or the International Health Professional Award of Excellence.

4. The nominator or the nominee needs to submit the following as e mail attachments:

a. Recent colored profile photo (jpg) of the nominee.

b. Curriculum Vitae
